Watch this music video, listen to the song, and try and forget that it's Ashlee Simpson for a few minutes.
It's not awful, right? Kind of catchy, kind of gets stuck in your head. Get outta my head! Ay ya ya ya ya.
And the video's kind of trippy, artsy, interesting to watch, too.

More Nail Stuff
I remember in junior high/middle school/whatever it's called nowadays when I would paint my toenails dark blue because I thought it looked pretty and I would get yelled at by my mom for looking like I had diseased toes. (She could never tell me exactly what disease it was that caused your toenails to look sparkly dark blue.)
For the past however many years, I've been wishing that this would become an acceptable nail color for adults, and after the last big fashion comeback of black nails, I knew it was only a matter of time before beautiful blue had it's time in the spotlight.
And in Spring 2008, that day will finally come.
You know a color is IN when Chanel makes it part of their line. Chanel Blue Satin Nail Polish. Mm-hmm.
Other limited editions in 2008 include white satin (also a favorite of mine back in the day), rose satin (pink), and azur (light sparkling blue). These limited editions are currently available on Chanel.com for $19.
Sadly (and kind of disgustingly), I can only find the Blue Satin being sold on Ebay for obscene amounts of money. Aka $27.99. If you've got money to blow and you love the navy blue that is sure to be the it color of this Spring, get it here.

Dry Weather = Dry Body Parts
What a great post title, right? It just sounds gross.
Anyways, when our skin is dry, we all know to use some lotion or vaseline. When our lips are chapped, we all know to use some sort of chapstick or lip balm. And when our hair is dry, CONDITIONER IS KEY. But I bet a lot of people don't really think about when they have dry cuticles.
What exactly are cuticles? According to Wikipedia, in human anatomy, "cuticle" refers to the dead layers of epidermal cells - specifically the strip of dead skin cells at the base and sides of the fingernail.
The eponychium (what the more scientifically inclined folk call the cuticle) functions as a protective barrier between the nail and epidermis (skin) from exposure of harmful bacteria.
See that diagram? Isn't it helpful?
Anyways, why are dry cuticles bad? They tear, they rip, they are unsightly, and I'm not too sure, but I think they have something to do with the strength of your nails, too. (I could be lying about that last bit.)
So, to make sure your nails are strong and your cuticles are nice and soft, here's what you need:
Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream. I tell ya, it's a MIRACLE worker. In this yucky dry weather my nails get all brittle and break too easily - but literally right after I apply this cream, my nails feel moisturized and stronger. I know that sounds weird, how do your nails FEEL moisturized? Well, I don't know, but it's kind of like how you don't know what you're missing till you try something. Trust me on this. Your nails will thank you for it.
Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream. Also available at all Target Stores.

Time to Swap Your Gifts
First of all, isn't "swap" a funny word? Say it a few times and you'll see what I mean. It starts sounding like a sound you'd make when you hit someone. SWAP!
Second of all, what do you do when you get a gift card that: A) is from a place you don't shop/eat/go to EVER, B) is just not enough for you to get anything you want, or C) you're never going to use? I have the answer to all of the above.
This website allows you to buy, sell, or swap your gift cards with other gift cards from other people. Of course, to sell or swap will cost you a flat rate of $1.99 - but would you rather pay $2 to get a gift card from a place you really like, or just pocket a $20 gift card to somewhere weird like Home Depot? And you can even trade in your gift card for cash - which most stores (if not all stores) will NEVER let you do. The catch for the cash? You only get a percentage of whatever is on the card, meaning that you don't get all of what the card is worth. But again, that's up to you - you don't have to get cash for it. I wouldn't; it seems like a crappy deal to me.
See? Crappy deal. Just sell or swap your card instead. When you post your card, it'll stay posted for 90 days, which, if you're thinking sounds like a long time, what do you care? Sure gifts cards are the same as money, but it's not your money; it's someone ELSE'S money that they gave to you! (If that logic doesn't help, ignore it. I've had a long day.)

More Sale Stuff
To make up for the fact that I was MIA for the past few days due to fobby concert-going and extreme buffet diving, here I am on Christmas Eve sharing some goods with you.
*Note: if I were y'all, I'd wait until after Christmas for the SERIOUS sales. What with retail doing so badly this year, stores are freaking out and after Christmas the sales will be INSANE. Guaranteed. But in case you've been eyeing something and you want to snag it before anyone else does...

Who Doesn't Love the Vegas? BUFFETS!
So tomorrow, or rather, later today, I will be leaving Las Vegas. Oh Vegas. Can I just say that the one thing that nobody needs to see is a bunch of middle aged ladies running around in mini dresses up to here and necklines down to there and old wrinkly cleavage in between? But I guess that's just how you know you've just about reached the West Coast - the dress code disappears and people just make it up as they go. Just kidding, kind of.
Anyways, 2 days, 2 nights at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino. As the fourth or fifth time (I'm not too clear on the number since we've been coming here since I was 9) in the Vegas, I have to say I'm not too crazy about the Mandalay.
I mean, okay it's pretty lively, and the rooms are comfortable and equipped with the requisite large flat screen tv and small flat screen in the bathroom. The buffet is definitely only good, not great. The selection is small, the food is bland, and the cake is dry. And I HATE dry cake. The biggest annoyance? (Or I guess in some people's opinion, a big plus) It smells like the beach. Like sand and salt and sunscreen. Yuh-cky! In case you couldn't tell, I don't really like the beach unless it's in pictures or through a window. But that's a whole other story.
Now, a GREAT buffet can be found at the Wynn. You know, that fancy "new" (relatively speaking) hotel at the other end of the strip.
"The Buffet" at the Wynn is FANTASTIC. Key time to go is around 2:30pm because at 3:30pm is when they they switch out the brunch food for the dinner food, so it's like you get double the choices of delicousness.
Things to try at The Buffet: Alaskan King Crab Legs, Peking Duck with steamed buns, omlette center, homemade ice cream bar (the coffee ice cream was like real coffee - bitter and strong), and crepe station. Thinking about those crab legs and Peking Duck is making me drool. Scuse me.
Other buffets that I love include the ones at the Bellagio and Paris. Those are GREAT, too! Are you judging me that when I come to Vegas I only worry about what I eat? Well I'm not one of those crazy rich Asians that come and spend money like water at the blackjack tables and in Chanel and Louis Vuitton, and I don't really enjoy gambling, so all I can really do is watch shows and eat.
By the way, all Cirque du Soleil shows are AMAZING, so do yourself a favor and the next time you come to Vegas, go watch O, or Le Reve, or Mystere, or Zumanity (if you don't mind the more risque and adult content).

Enchanted!
Have you seen this movie? If yes, how AMAZING was it?! If not, go watch it and then I'll talk to you.
I LOVE this movie!
If you like fantasy stories and good fantasy movies, go watch Stardust, too. These are both movies that I inevitably will be adding to my personal library.

Deal of the Day (Maybe of the YEAR)
Arrested Development, only like, one of the best shows EVER, the complete series (all 3 seasons), on sale for $29.99! WHAT WHAT! Too bad for me I already own the entire thing, and it cost me waaaay more than that. At least 2x more.
Amazon.
Retro Trashy Awesomeness
The D-O-Double-G has a new song out, and with that song, probably the funniest slash coolest slash pseudo-kinda-sleazy-creepy slash pimptastic music video I have ever seen.
"Sensual Seduction." - The name is already kind of great, isn't it?
I think the screenshots say alot.
To watch it, go here.

Something to Brighten Your Day
Totally worth the watch.
By the way, the video, for whatever reason, only works for like - the first 3 and half minutes and just quits (even on Youtube), so I don't know what's up with that. But the first 3 minutes are golden, so it's okay. That's all you need.

Flashback
Where has Wyclef been? I don't know, but I'm glad he's back.
"Sweetest Girl (Dollar Bill)"
Official video has embedding disabled, so here's the link.
And here is a video that I guess someone made themselves. I enjoyed it for its creativity. NOT so much the naked (albeit censored) ladies.
Kind of sort of vaguely reminds me of Sarah McLachlan's "World on Fire" video from 2006.
Why so many videos, you may be wondering. Where are the cool gift guides? What happened to the long-winded entries? Well, it's exam week, ladies and gentlemen. And so videos are the fastest and most convenient way for me to waste time. Don't worry though, after Friday, I'll be back in business - and after next Wednesday, so will ~S~! I know a lot of our readers have probably missed her and are worried about her well-being.
Rest assured, she's right across the table from me in the library, typing away like a maniac and drinking tea like there's no tomorrow. (Or rather, like tomorrow will only come too soon.) And me? I'm doing this.

Doing Your Part By Searching with AIDGLE
Aidgle is a custom version of the Google search engine (meaning the results you get are the same as when you use Google), but there's something a little more special about it: For every search conducted on Aidgle, the company donates 1 cent to non-profit organizations who are currently conducting relief work in disaster locations around the world.
For a list of locations where the money is going, go here.
Spread the word.
Read the blog (which apparently hasn't been updated since October).

I Love Polaroids
How awesome are Polaroids? Aside from the fact that the cameras are humongous, I don't really see any downsides. They're fun, they're easy, they're instant - kind of like how I like my friends. Just kidding.
Polanoid.net is a website that is trying to create the world's largest database of Polaroid pictures, and it's doing that by allowing Polaroid nerds of the world (i.e. ME) to register and upload pictures for FREE.
Good for: photography freaks and Polaroid geeks.
Polaroid (for the official website - but it only has one choice of camera), Ebay (for a wider selection of types, looks, and some harder to find versions), Amazon (for other selections, and in my opinion, easiest place to buy).
P.S. Don't forget to buy the film!

Chanel For Sale
Beginning today, part 2 of Holly Brubach's, former style editor of the New York Times, personal collection of select Chanel pieces are for sale at YOOX.com.
From bags, to suits, to jewelry - this is a goldmine, people! Chanel is NEVER sold online! Lots of stuff is already sold out, so hurry hurry.
Bag pictured is selling for $1,920. Sound steep? Not for Chanel. This is a STEAL.
~S~ is going to flip - we love Chanel! (Even though we can't afford it ourselves.)

Happy Monday
Screenshot of an email I got this morning from BLUEFLY.COM:
And don't forget the Gucci and Bottega Veneta sales starting today, tooooo!
Also, don't be too surprised that the posting will slow down a bit for the next week or two, as exams are starting this week for me and ~S~! But I'm sure between studying and freaking out, we'll find time to post new stuff for you, because we love you just that much.
